Akron is one of Ohio's largest cities and industrial centers and settled at the highest point of the Ohio and Erie Canal just 40 miles south of Cleveland. Even though we're nicknamed the "Rubber Capital of the World", there's so much more to this city than high-quality tires. From an abundance of farmers markets, brunch destinations and more — you could spend days exploring our amazing city. When you do decide to move here (and we promise you will), it can be hard to decide on the perfect neighborhood. That's why we rounded up some of the hottest areas in Akron, all of which are fantastic places to live. No matter who you are or what you're looking for, there's a home and neighborhood perfect for you. Happy exploring!

For the Outdoor Enthusiast — Cuyahoga Falls

Akron Neighborhoods Cuyahoga Falls is a vibrant community located just a few miles north from Akron. Its name stems from its proximity to the Cuyahoga River and the Cuyahoga Valley National Park. The town offers a diverse selection of housing options, green spaces and a charming downtown area that's full of things to do! There are a plethora of outdoor pursuits all around Cuyahoga Falls from kayaking, canoeing, hiking, biking and more. If you aren't a huge fan of outdoor activities, there's still a ton to do in the area from perusing the shops in the historic downtown or grabbing a bite from one of the fabulous restaurants. Neighborhood highlights: Blue Door Cafe and Bakery, Cuyahoga Valley Scenic Railroad, Summit Metro Parks and the Downtown Amphitheater.

For Golf Lovers — Stow

This smaller, primarily residential, suburb boasts beautiful homes and ample parks. The friendly community atmosphere, picturesque roads, 410 acres of parkland along with the fantastic home prices make this little town perfect for first-time homeowners. While the area is full of amazing attractions, it is the golf courses that make this area stand out. Home to the Fox Den Golf Course and the Roses Run Country Club are both award-winning 18-hole courses, this community is truly a golf-lovers paradise. Neighborhood highlights: Summit County Metro Parks Bike and Hike Trail, StowNut Donut & Diner, Cellar 59 Wine Bar & Wine Shop.

For Those Raising a Family — Goodyear Heights

Akron Neighborhoods The small community of Goodyear Heights was created by the founder of Goodyear Tire and Rubber Company as a neighborhood that would provide an easier commute for Goodyear employees. Today, the charming town is a mostly residential community full of moderately priced single-family homes. The area features great schools and the Goodyear Heights Metro Park, which provides a recreational oasis for residents. Neighborhood highlights: The Linda, Julian's, Buckeye Bookshop and the Goodyear Theater & Hall.
